Club Utah Volleyball

Sam Atoa with UVU Volleyball is taking donations for anything to take to Western Samoa.  He could really use backpacks, sackpacks, and bags for students in Samoa.  Anything that is in reasonable shape will do.  He could also use shoes, t-shirts, shorts, etc.  Please bring any donations to practice for Scott to pick up.

Don’t forget to wear your Club Utah attire for free admission into the BYU Men’s Volleyball game this Saturday night, April 14th.  BYU will be playing Penn State, which should promise to be an exciting game.  So grab your teammates and come to the game!!!

Michaela Townsend’s Club Utah bag went missing from the Factory about two weeks ago.  Inside the bag had a blue zip up jacket with the name Townsend, and the Juan Diego high school emblem embroidered on it.  If you know anything about this bag, please contact Scott or Colleen.  We would love to see it returned to Michaela.  This is also a good reminder to all parents to mark your athlete’s clothing/equipment.  It is so easy for it to get mixed up with another’s things at the gym.

For all who knew Lori Richards, we are so sad to hear of her passing this weekend after a battle with cancer.  Lori was the UVU Women’s Volleyball Head Coach for many years and was instrumental in bringing club volleyball to Utah County.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.

Be sure your make your payment, which was due by the 5th.  Be sure to add your athlete’s name, age, and team to the memo line of your check for quicker processing.  Checks can be mailed to the club address or given to Scott/Colleen at practice.  Hope you are having a great season so far!

Practices are in full swing and tournaments begin this weekend.  The 15/16 Age Group playing in the Power League start us off this weekend with a seeding tournament.  Check the 2012 Rosters Page to see which league your team plays in.

We have a link to the tournament schedule on our website.  From our homepage, click on Touraments, then Regional.  The dates of the tournaments are usually set for the entire season, while the location of each tournament may change up until days before the event.  Check the site regularly for updates.  The IVA is responsible for the schedule and location of tournaments.

Les Calles has been handing out the club apparel as it has become available.  If you have any concerns with your apparel, contact Les at lkcalles@gmail.com.

Lastly, be sure to catch up on your monthly payments.  Past due accounts result in the inability of athletes to play in tournaments.  So far, the down payment, December, and now January payments are due.  If you have any question on your account balance, email Scott Lee at clubutahvb@yahoo.com.

We had an exciting first two weeks of practice!  We know December is crazy, but thanks so much to parents and players for making time for practice.  There will be no practice the week of December 19th or 26th.

Practices start again beginning Monday, January 2nd.  Even if there is a Monday holiday, our teams continue with practice through the winter months.
