Cost: $10 a session

There is no need to sign up for the clinics.  Just show up and there will be a court and a coach there. Last clinic is May 1st.

2013 First Tournament Questions

NUVA updated the schedule. Check it out under Tournaments link, then Regional. They moved the Super Regional to the 19-20th of April for 15′s-18′s.

Club Utah will be holding some skill assessment camps tonight, Tuesday November 20th and again next Tuesday, November 27th for girls who will be 14 or younger as of September 1 of next year.

Cost is $25 per session at the XSI Factory in Lehi, UT.  Ages 13 and younger please come from 5-7 pm, and 14s come from 7-9 pm.  You can print the needed paperwork from our Tryouts Tab above, or we will also have paperwork available at the Factory.

Come up to 30 minutes early to get registered, warm up, and be ready to play when it is time for your athlete to take the court.  Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring a water bottle.  Parents are welcome to observe from the spectator seating upstairs.

Whether you just want some volleyball skill instruction, or are ready to commit to a club season, come join us.  Parent meetings to discuss the season, turn in additional paperwork (look under the Teams tab to find the paperwork link), and a deposit will be held on Thursday, November 29th, in the upstairs Dance Room at the Factory.

There are a few common themes I hear from parents as they are introduced to to the world of club volleyball.  I have attached a Q/A document of some of those most common questions that I hope you will find helpful.

2013 Common Questions

Club Utah will be hosting tryouts for our younger teams in October and our older teams in November.  We welcome girls of all skill levels to come to try outs.  Our travel teams are highly competitive, each team only taking up to 10 players, so cuts may be made.  It is critical to note that travel teams are required to play on Sundays at national qualifiers.  Our competitve teams play in tournaments locally and have highly skilled players down to beginners.  We work hard to place most to all girls who come to tryouts on a team that matches their skill level.  Our goal is to place 9-10 girls on a team with a similar skill set.

Younger Girls – Less than 12 up to age 14

We will be holding a 4 week skills clinic to teach the girls the basics of passing, hitting, and serving.  At the last session, teams will be formed for the upcoming season.  Any girl is invited to participate, regardless of further participation for the upcoming club season.

Cost: $25 per session             Ages >12, 13                         Age 14

Session 1               Oct 20 8:00-10:00 am        Oct 20    10:00 am to noon

Older Tryouts – Ages 15 to 18

Elite/Travel teams will be playing several local tournaments, and traveling to USA volleyball national qualifiers during the season.  These teams are required to play on Sunday when traveling.  The cost to play for an Elite/Travel team is double to triple the cost of a competitive team, due to out-of-state travel expenses.

Tryout Cost: $20 (cash or check)

Ages 15, 18                           Ages 16, 17

Competitive teams will be playing in AAU for local tournaments, and may travel as far north as Boise and as far south as St. George.  No Sunday play is required.

For all who knew Lori Richards, we are so sad to hear of her passing this weekend after a battle with cancer.  Lori was the UVU Women’s Volleyball Head Coach for many years and was instrumental in bringing club volleyball to Utah County.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.
